Now, according to a recent USA TODAY/ TripAdvisor survey, 27 percent of responders say, “I have the right to recline.” Fortunately, another 27 percent said, “all seats should be non-reclining,” while 17 percent stated, “It’s rude to recline.” Then there are the semi-considerate: “I only recline when sleeping” (15 percent), and “It depends who’s behind me” (13 percent). Not too long ago, a flight from Dulles to Ghana was stopped shortly after takeoff because one traveler got upset when the man in front of him put his seat all the way back, and the two men got into a fist fight. Airlines such as Allegiant, Ryanair, ANA (All Nippon Airlines) and Spirit Airlines have entire planes with non-reclining seats.
