Then, take Malpensa, the largest of Milan, Italy’s airports. Going through passport control there takes almost one-third of the time necessary for a transatlantic trip. And the area reserved for checking passports is so small that lines stretch all the way to the airplane gates. And let’s agree not to talk about the VIP airport lounges — complaints would take up too much space.
